Welcome Collingwood soccer community!

As we embark on the 2011 soccer season, let me welcome back our returning members and say hello to those of you who are with us for the first time. The Collingwood United Soccer Club(CUSC) may be relatively new in name, but  it carries with it a long tradition of soccer in the Collingwood and surrounding area.

As an organization our job to continue to evolve never stops. To that end we have implemented some new people and new programs that will serve to bring our athletes and our soccer programming to new levels, while still maintaining the level of soccer service the soccer community has come to know and trust. To help set direction going forward the CUSC has developed a new mission statement which will guide the board of directors in their decision making going forward. Be sure to have a look at our mission statement which is posted on our website  www.collingwoodusc.ca .

CUSC took a major step forward in total club development by hiring a full time/part time technical director. Frank Delisimunovic brings to our club a lifetime of soccer experience from his time playing in the Canadian National Soccer League to numerous development positions with clubs in Ontario. But Frank is no stranger to Collingwood Soccer as he has had many years of experience with Collingwood Premier Men’s teams both playing and coaching.

It is that past experience and his vision for the club going forward that shines through in his enthusiasm that he brings to all aspects of our club. Frank has already had an impact on the club with his early involvement and ideas, and we look to his initiatives going forward to make our house league and rep programs the best they can be going forward. Look for Frank at a field near you!

This year we have implemented an Adult Committee that is overseeing our adult house league programming. While the product on the field will not look different, the committee has done a lot of work behind the scenes to help make the administration of our adult programming better for all of those involved. Collingwood has always had a strong adult program which the committee hopes to build on going forward into the future.

I would like to take the time to thank our hard working board of directors for all they do to make the CUSC and it’s programming the great product that it is. I would be remise if I also did not take the time to thank the countless volunteers and coaches that lend many hours of their time to help make our events and programs the success they are.

I look forward to continue working with you to grow soccer in Collingwood.  I can be reached at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . See you on the pitch!

Yours in soccer,

Keith
